User-friendly lessons help nurture a team relationship between librarians and teachers! Literature-based units are designed to begin with a lesson in the library, extend with several bridge activities for use by either librarian or teacher and culminate with a lesson for the classroom. The arching series of lessons partners the media specialist and teacher for enhanced collaboration, or provides the librarian with a variety of curriculum-based lessons to use alone. Lessons are correlated to national standards, and all patterns, reproducibles and answer keys are included. Mix and match lessons and activities to address a variety of elementary curriculum objectives and student learning styles. Lessons include:
•Christian Christmas, Hanukkah and Kwanzaa
•Westward Expansion
•Rocks and Minerals
•Animal Intelligence
•China: Past and Present
